IT Infrastructure & System Integration // Dortmund
I plan, implement, and operate IT infrastructures with a focus on stability, security, and structured documentation. Specialized in Debian GNU/Linux, Proxmox virtualization, OPNsense network structures, and Docker operations.
As a system integration specialist, I see my task in designing IT infrastructures so that they not only function on the day of setup, but remain understandable, scalable, and maintainable years down the road.
I work in a pragmatic and solution-oriented manner. In the event of system faults, I rely on structured troubleshooting from the physical layer up to the application. Clean documentation (Infrastructure as Code, network diagrams, and precise runbooks) is not an annoying extra for me, but the foundation of any stable operation.
In addition to my professional work, I operate an extensive homelab. Here I test new technologies, simulate network segmentation, and evaluate open-source alternatives under realistic conditions.
-
[X]
Hands-On & Pragmatic: Cables, stable VMs, and structured operations.
-
[X]
Troubleshooting: Logical elimination instead of blind guessing.
-
[X]
Documentation: Configurations belong in Git, changes are documented.
-

Data Security: Backups are only good once the restoration process has been tested.
Infrastructure & Operations
Setup, hardening, and maintenance of server infrastructures. Experience with virtualization (Proxmox VE, KVM/QEMU, VMware ESXi), containerization with Docker, and automation via Bash scripting and Ansible.
Linux & Server Services
Administration of Linux distributions (Arch Linux, Debian, Ubuntu Server, Alpine). Proficient with the terminal, SSH, Systemd, nginx/Caddy as reverse proxies, DNS systems (Bind9, Pi-hole, AdGuard Home), and storage solutions (NFS, Samba, ZFS).
Networks & Security
Practical experience with network architecture and segmentation. Configuration of VLANs, IP routing, VPNs (WireGuard, OpenVPN), firewalls (OPNsense/pfSense, iptables/nftables), and access points in the UniFi ecosystem.
Support & Technical Systems
Structured 1st/2nd level IT support, troubleshooting on-site and remote. Support and integration of point-of-sale systems (POS), peripherals, and event IT infrastructure in live environments.
Planning and execution of migrating a Windows Server 2012 R2 Active Directory and DNS structure to a modern server OS. Includes FSMO role transfer, DHCP migration, and DNS cleanup.
Setup of a monitoring solution for server health and network load. Visualization of metrics in Grafana dashboards. Alerts on service downtime or storage shortages via Discord/Telegram webhooks.
Physical and logical integration of IP security cameras (NVR) and IoT systems. Isolation of devices in separate VLANs without WAN access, securing remote access via dedicated WireGuard VPN.
Configuration of a Linux workstation for daily tasks and technical audio processing. Optimization of audio latency via PipeWire, virtualization of Windows test systems via KVM/QEMU with GPU passthrough.
Scripts, automation playbooks, and detailed markdown documentations from my homelab projects are continuously prepared and published on GitHub.
